Trump says Iran war "close to over" amid hopes for more negotiations
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.29% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 1.34% or 0.04 points to trade at 3.02 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) added 1.28% or 0.10 points to end at 7.91 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 1.27% or 0.05 points to 3.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 1.87% or 0.11 points to trade at 5.52 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) declined 0.56% or 0.10 points to end at 17.86 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was down 0.39% or 0.02 points to 5.09.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.58% or 1.04 to $66.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.62% or 1.00 to hit $62.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.86% or 28.77 to trade at $3,387.47 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 98.07.
