Wall Street closes at a record for the first time since end of January
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 2.10% or 0.11 points to trade at 5.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 1.63% or 0.27 points to end at 16.55 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.90% or 0.07 points to 7.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR), which fell 0.91% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.26 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 0.84% or 0.03 points to end at 3.66 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was down 0.78% or 0.04 points to 5.08.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.10% or 0.11 to 5.35.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.69% or 0.46 to $66.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.08% or 0.69 to hit $63.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 4.60 to trade at $3,400.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 97.92.
